This year, we exhibited at Gueules de Miel (Paris Teddy Show), the biggest artist bear show in France! An incredible day which ended perfectly, as I won the contest!
In April, I had the pleasure to exhibit my bears in a castle, for a whole weekend! The Château de Madame de Graffigny was the perfect place to hold an arts and crafts exhibition:
I had the chance to share a room with a maker whose universe completed mine… My bears were nearby tenth-size models created by Henry Bart and his wife! Our exhibition neighboors were very pleasant to talk with, we really enjoyed the two days we spent with them.

Here are some of the other rooms:

Christine Strappazzon (Atelier Artabalo)

The weekend ended so fast, we had so many visitors and we made interresting encounters. This adventure truly enchanted us!
Until the end of the month, wordwide teddy artist bear enthusiasts are called to vote for the URSA Awards finals. For 10 years, this international contest has been awarding the best bear artists. I am very proud to announce that Théodore and Barnabé are running! They are the only french bears in this final step of the competition.
What are the URSA Awards? It’s a reference to Ursa Major (that reminds me of something…) but it also stands for “Unparalled beauty, Rarity of vision, Style beyond compare, Artistic merit“. Each year, this american contest occurs in two online voting rounds. During the first round, you choose a bear per category, the top three bears are then qualified for the final round. During the final step, all the qualified pieces are gathered in three groups: the website visitors just get to choose their three favourite bears among the finalists, one per group.
For these URSA Awards 2015, 65 artists joined the competition and represented 21 countries! Among the 138 contestants, it was not easy to make a choice… After the first round which occured in July, Théodore and Barnabé were qualified for the finals! I have to thank all the votants who supported my bears… It is an honour for me to represent France in the winners! Indeed, all the qualified bears receive an award but it’s up to you to determine which one.
[EDIT on 10/01] Until August 31, you could vote one last time to establish the final ranking. According to the number of votes they got, Théodore and Barnabé finished second of their category. Thank you so much for your support!
Note: all you have to do is click on the “Vote Now” button below each group to access the group’s voting poll. A thank you message will confirm to you that your vote has been sent. Please take the time to vote in the three groups!
For the FIMA Baccarat, the bears fallen from the stars had their own marquee! We were selected to be part of the Village des métiers d’art (60 craftsmen). For the occasion, 15 bears travelled with me.
For 3 days, art craftsmen rubbed shoulders with art restorers and training centers. More than 40 art forms were represented durig the 3rd edition of the FIMA (International Festival of Art Forms): stone carver, industrial lamps maker, stained glass artist, doll maker… Satisfying all types of curious people! Between talented craftsmen and kind visitors, I once more made beautiful encounters.
During a whole weekend, the bears fallen from the stars invaded the decoration concept-store “le 109”. With its two floors, this shop from Nancy (France) is filled with Made in France gifts, with perfect design and originality. Let’s discover a shop like no other…
